"Alpha Encender" Fire Starter ~ Review

Starting a fire is simple as long as you have a lighter and/or matches but what if these items get wet? Having a fire starter on your person may help save your life. I was introduced to the "Alpha Encender" Fire Starter from Aspen Ridge Sports and I love it. This is the perfect solution when in a dire situation or for keeping in a bug-out bag. It's also great to have on hand at home or when camping.

Everything comes together on a para-cord lanyard to keep the tools in one place and the lanyard doubles as an emergency cord. There are three pieces for starting a fire: large magnesium rod, metal striker, and large ferro rod. This is a great product to back-up your lighter and matches and I will definitely keep this in my prepper supplies. We tested the fire starter and the shower of sparks is impressive. I wanted to make a video of it in use but will do a dry run of it. I'm highly impressed with the product and will recommend it to "like minded" people.
